GOOD DESIGN COMES TOGETHER
Pine and Gray offers collections of housewares and everyday goods for modern living. Our shop is where good design comes together. New products, noteworthy designers, and proven brands. Every single item has been selected for good design and everyday use, but we also highly value these objects for their material, process and utility. We have accessories for almost every room in the home, as well as a few personal items for you and your family.
When hand-selecting objects, we do our best to meet the designer or maker. We want to learn about their story, the materials they use and their process. You may find some of these items elsewhere in your travels, but where Pine and Gray really sets apart is in our curated groupings of items, offered by use and price.Thoughtfully presented in boxes, our goal is to share these designer finds and to make ordering for the home, yourself or gifting, a simple and accessible experience.
After ordering from our menu of boxes, your selection will be carefully packaged and delivered with a personal note from the Pacific Northwest. We hope you’ll enjoy these everyday goods as much as we do.
MORE ON PINE AND GRAY
The Name- I grew up in a small town in the Rocky Mountains on a street lined with pine trees. I now live in Vancouver, British Columbia, surrounded by a beautiful, misty coastal landscape…that is often gray punctuated with summers of sunshine. Our family makes frequent trips along the coast, from Vancouver to California and I’m always seeking local makers along the way. The Pacific Northwest has a huge influence on how I’ve stocked the shop, with locally sourced wood, forest scents and coastal hues.
Why we started- It’s easy not to think about where things come from, let alone the material or the method of how that object was made. I began visiting makers to satisfy my curiosity on that basis. I was not only intrigued by the object itself, but also by the narrative of the designer, the exploration of materials and the processes. I wanted to create a shop to note these designers and share these objects in a meaningful way with others.
Background- My background in Interior Design and a Masters in Architecture could explain my obsession over small details, new materials and how things are made. As a residential designer, I’m often asked by clients to help ‘finish’ the interiors with beautifully-made pieces that will enhance their new living space – but are still practical enough for everyday living. Some of these findings have – or will – make their way to Pine and Gray.
We are excited to be working on the development and design of some of our own everyday goods, featuring local materials. Watch our Instagram feed or Facebook page for more details.
